Pearl has made good use of the first video camera she received as a gift from her Hasidic father for a Fulbright trip to Hungary. She wrote, directed, and produced the acclaimed feature documentary, Divan, that follows her intimate journey as she chases an ancestral couch from Hungary to Israel to her own Hasidic community in Brooklyn. In the spirit of her Hasidic past, Pearl acts as a mentor and educator on numerous college campuses, as she continues to scratch the surface of reality with her now much newer camera.
