Isild Le Besco has lost her walkman, a vintage object that she cherishes and contains a recording of a song she has to perform at an audition. With only a few hours until her audition, Isild takes us for a crazy race around Le Marais in search of her tape. No efforts are spared and every door is opened: from the Orthodox Jewish neighborhood to the gay sex-shop, from theaters and cafés to her own mother’s apartment door. Isild takes us from rue Vieille du Temple to Place des Vosges, across secret courtyards and hip bars. Original soundtrack composed by Fred Avril. Narrator Biography
Her personality is as unusual as her Algerian and Vietnamese origins. This young actress, director, and producer has been nominated to the Cesars (the French Oscars) twice, and received the Marcello Mastroianni award for best actress at Venice’s Mostra in 2006, for her role in The Untouchable by Benoît Jacquot. As Jacquot’s muse, Isild Le Besco has played in five of his movies. She also directed three films: Demi-Tarif (2004), Charly (2007) and Les bas-fonds (2009).
